Department of Animal Control

Phone calls specific to Animal Control are handled by the Andover Township Police Department at 973-383-5544. The police will then dispatch the Animal Control Officer.

Dog Licensing

Dog license renewals are due by January 31st of each calendar year. Please secure the current license tag to your dog's collar. In the event your dog becomes lost, this tag will help identify the owner and avoid any fees associated with impoundment.

Notices

If you no longer own your dog, if he/she is deceased, or if you have moved out of the Township, please notify this office immediately. Failure to do so can result in unnecessary paperwork in the future and a possible summons.

Ordinance 2017-12 limits the number of dogs to five (5) on a residential property, unless the property is qualified as a farm. Six (6) or more dogs constitutes a kennel. Read full ordinance.
