Andover Township in Sussex County has an immediate opening for a full-time Department of Public Works Laborer. Applicants must have a valid New Jersey Driver’s License, with a CDL endorsement preferred. Daily tasks include but are not limited to: Maintaining Township owned properties and roadways, mowing; cleaning and repairing catch basins, pothole patching, raking asphalt, traffic control, snow plowing and salting. Successful candidates must be able to drive/operate pickups trucks, small and large dump trucks, various salting equipment, mowers, chain saws, brush chippers, asphalt rollers and other job-related equipment; must be physically able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to work outside in all weather conditions.
Hours are 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Full benefit package including medical, dental, and pension plans. Starting salary per collective bargaining agreement: Non-CDL $51,628.00 annually ($24.82 per hour) and CDL $52,128.00 ($25.06 per hour). Must be available for overtime for winter storms and other emergency-related callouts.
